Multi-cartridge backwash filters are a new generation of backwash filters, possessing the characteristics of traditional backwash filters. They integrate multiple filter elements internally, providing 24-hour continuous online filtration. When a filter element becomes clogged, a rotating arm backwashes each element individually. Effectively removing solid particulate impurities from water, this fully automatic online continuous filtration system integrates differential pressure control and time control in parallel, allowing for efficient filter operation based on working conditions. It represents an advanced solution for water filtration.
During normal operation, the working medium flows in through the system inlet, is filtered by the internal filter element, and then flows out through the outlet. As impurities gradually accumulate on the surface of the filter element, reducing its effective filtration area and causing the differential pressure to reach a predetermined value, the differential pressure transmitter outputs a signal to the control system. The control system then outputs a signal to activate the motor driving the backwashing mechanism. When the backwash suction tray inlet is aligned with the filter element's inlet, the drain valve opens, releasing pressure and draining water. A negative pressure zone appears between the suction tray and the inside of the filter element, with a relative pressure lower than the water pressure on the outside of the filter element. This forces some of the clean circulating water to flow from the outside of the filter element to the inside, while impurities adsorbed on the inner wall of the filter element enter the tray with the water flow and are discharged through the drain valve.
